To support the salary of a woman in Afghanistan

Our work focuses specifically on women since their rights and access to opportunities have been continually encroached upon during the Taliban’s rule.

As you know, the erosion of women’s freedoms has forcibly pushed women from public life. Despite this reality, women are committed to continuing their work in preserving cultural heritage through crafts.
After traveling to several remote provinces in Afghanistan, we determined that the easiest and safest way for women to work was from home or a local workshop where they could all meet.

During these scouting trips, we identified women who are skilled in embroidery, tailoring and rug making.
Our operations include providing a starter's kit with designs and materials as well as a two day training on our design, to make the project efficient and production up to international market standards.

We organize logistics for payment wages and to collect pieces when they are finished. We then proceed to quality control, packaging and shipping. We have piloted our initiative in four provinces:
Faryab, Balkh, Kabul, Bamyan.

Through our partnerships with women makers, we not only offer:

  • A sense of hope and worth

  • Safe and good working conditions

  • We provide access to the international market to make the project sustainable and efficient. Indeed, due to the country's economic crisis; revenue generation relies on the international market.

  • And the ability to earn a good income to support their families, a critical concern during these challenging times.

Thank you!
