How we act in Afghanistan.

Although the UN and many NGOs operating within Afghanistan provide emergency aid to the population, Artijaan is able to create development initiatives and sustainable economic opportunities.

Artijaan supports Afghan artisans and enables them to earn a fair wages. We aim to empower communities and restore dignity through the preservation of cultural heritage and traditional craft techniques. 

We currently work with 40 craftsmen and women, with varied skills, such as embroidery, woodworking, ceramics or even the creation of jewelry.
